Today in sacrament meeting Trevin was coloring a picture on the bench next to me when he looked up rubbing his eye and saying that it really hurt. I thought he had accidentally poked himself in the eye but he said he hadn't. Then I thought maybe there was something in his eye but he said there wasn't. Not really thinking it was a big deal, I turned my attention back to the speaker and didn't really pay him any more attention.
About 3 or 4 minutes later, Trevin suddenly stood up and looked right at me and said, "Momma, Jesus helped me."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"I said a prayer to Jesus to help my eye feel better and now it doesn't hurt," he replied.
It sounds like such a simple experience but my heart was so touched. Trevin had absolute faith that his prayer would be answered....and it was. It was truly a testimony to me of the power of prayer and the faith of a little child. Our children really are such great examples of faith!

That is so true. When Zach had some painful bandages removed a year ago from a surgery, that I got to remove, he had me stop every minute in his extreme pain so he could say another prayer. I think we had 10 prayers in 15 minutes. Bandages off, I began to apologize to him. He said it was okay... Heavenly Father made it all better. The teacher becomes the student... The student the teacher.
What a sweet moment. Yes, Childlike Faith, how sweet it is...
Those are such special sweet moments!
Oh, . . . that's it ~ just Oh, how tender and sweet ~ I love those moments ~ makes it all worth it!!!!
I totally agree. Our children teach us so much.
That is so perfect!! I love it. I think that's why we have children around us to remind of the simpleness of the gospel. And how Jesus really is a prayer away.
Trevin is the man! Priceless Jen! You and Kelly deserve alot of credit!
Oh, I love this story about Trev! It makes me miss seeing that adorable little face more often.
