Exhibit Night-October

It's that time of year again! The 1st nine weeks is over and the kids have each learned a ton about their modules.

2nd grade module: Japan
Trevin was chosen to be a docent for the Japan exhibit. He was in charge of answering questions. Did you know that smart cars run on electricity and gas? Or that Mt. Fuji is the biggest mountain in Japan?

4th grade module: Colonization/Exploration
Kierstyn participated in a wax museum as Benjamin Franklin for part of her Advanced Studies class. "I was born on January 17, 1706, in Boston, Massachusetts....I was most known for being one of the founding fathers of the United States...After the Revolutionary War I became the sixth president of the Executive Council of Pennsylvania...."

Where I’m From

I am from Lego blocks,

from Hot Wheels and Nike.

I am from the mud in the yard that was turned into mud pies.

(whose chocolately goo would ooze all over

my fingers.)

I am from the pear tree,

whose smelly pears we picked off the ground every Saturday.

I’m from blue eyes and family gatherings at Mama Mary and Granddaddy's house,

from Jen and Kelly.

I’m from backyard playing

and inside scuffles,

from “Don’t put your fingers in your mouth” and “Set a good example for your younger siblings and cousins.”

I’m from Book of Mormon Stories.

I’m from Dirks and Smartt,

from Mama Mary bread and Granddaddy oatmeal cookies.

From the stitches on my sisters forehead,

from the vegetable cutter that sliced my thumb.

Inside the playroom closet where

pictures and memories are piled high in boxes.

The scrapbooks found all around the house.

I am the small roots, just beginning to grow,

that hold everyone together.
