Homecoming Week

Whew! It's been a busy and fun-filled week around here.  Wednesday night I played in the Powderpuff football game--Old Women v. High School Girls.  Kelly was our coach. It got a little rough and turned into tackle when we realized the High School Girls' flags were tied on tight and wouldn't come off.  And yes, WE kicked BOOTY!

Monday was Superhero Day (Ky dressed like a missionary), Tuesday was Nerd Day (didn't get a picture...), Wednesday was Future Occupation Day (Ky didn't dress up; Sis went as a singer; Trev went as a football player. Thursday was Decades Day for the high school. This is what Kyler had on before school but he wouldn't wear it out the door.
The elementary school had Crazy Hair and Sock Day on Thursday.

And Friday was Blue/Gold School Spirit Day!

Friday afternoon was the Homecoming Parade.  Trevin rode the float with his football team and Sis rode with the Showtime group.

My cute little Cub Scouts led the parade.  They did such a great job!

Guess who sang the National Anthem at the football game?!  Yes, it was none other than our Kierstyn!!  She had been planning to sing for weeks but at the very last minute they told her that the Pep band was going to be playing so she sprinted to the band room after school on Friday for a quick run-through.  She did great even though the band played it in a {very} high key.  Good thing she's got a good range! :)

The Homecoming game was a blowout.  We mercy-ruled the other team at the beginning of the 4th quarter 72-22.  Kyler and Kierstyn enjoyed the movie on the football field after the game and didn't get home til 12:30! I had to leave as soon as the game was over to come home and take care of Trevin who had called crying because he wasn't feeling well.  I think it was a combination of going non-stop all week, being overtired, eating too much junk, and yes, he was a wee bit sick (cold, cough, etc.) too.  Thankfully I got him to calm down and go to sleep and he was all better when he woke up Saturday morning.

Malta has some school spirit for sure. You already fit right in. We missed a lot of the festivities this year, but will be all in next year. Glad Trevin is feeling better, and that's awesome Kierstyn sang!! Mostly sad that I missed that.
