OH HAPPY DAY!!! HALLELUJAH!!! MIRACLES DO HAPPEN!!! YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
It's a sad fact but I had (almost) given up hope of Trevin and G ever being friends. For some reason the mere mention of the name "G" just sent Trevin into serious BAD BOY OVERDRIVE. He just WOULD NOT be nice. No amount of coaxing, threatening, phychological tactics, etc. could compel these two to get along.... I, of course, enjoy G's mom and so I continued to endure the "bad blood" between the boys because let's just face it, I am selfish and want a friend--this friend, by golly!
And then it happened. Today. I am still reveling in the glory of it. Brace yourself for this: TREV AND G GOT ALONG. Beautifully. I kid you not. FOR OVER 2 HOURS!!!!!! I am not over-exaggerating the feelings of happiness, joy and just plain giddiness that I felt as we left the park this morning. There is hope.....and I won't give up forcing these 2 little guys to be friends.
Maybe I should mention the fact that I had to use bribery to induce these feelings of good will between the boys and maybe that should make me a little less happy but I won't lie...if bribery works, I'll use it! Here's the deal: I put 10 quarters into my left pocket and told Trev that for every nice thing he said or did to G I would move a quarter from my left pocket to my right pocket. (Oh, and you'd better believe I stipulated that if he said or did a "not nice" thing then the quarter got moved back.) If at the end of our playdate he had at least 8 quarters in my right pocket then we would go get an ice cream cone with our quarters. Yes, I have resulted to bribery and yes, I am proud of it. It worked. It worked! IT WORKED!!! If a peaceful, relaxing visit with a friend at the park only costs me an ice cream cone, I can be happy with that. (Did you all know that Burger King doesn't sell ice cream cones????--He had a strawberry milk shake instead.)
I really wanted to post a picture of the boys in their blessed happy state of friendship (don't worry--we got proof) but Kim's the one who took the picture so you must now venture over to her blog to see these incredibly happy boys. (Just click on "her blog" and it will take you there.)
Oh, I almost forgot the "fast shoes" part......Trev got new shoes!!! And boy are they ever fast! Can I tell you how happy black tennis shoes make me?!? Hooray for fast shoes and friends!

Hooray! Your version of the day is much better written, I will have to link it to mine...you certainly could of posted one of those pics too! Grant asked if we could take T to Green Mountain next time :)
I support bribery of this kind any time ~ woo-hoo for friendship!!
LOVE the black shoes. Please tell T that I am most pleased he played so well with G today and earned an ice cream treat!!
I don't even know where to begin. I want to comment on all of them! First of all... you are amazing! I love reading your blogs and I LOVE, LOVE, LLLLLOOOOOVVVVVEEEEE your pictures. You are such a talented person anyways- it's just blossoming into photography!
Trevin is maturing so much! Jen, you are such a good writer- I can just hear you tell your story.
So, is it a rule that you can't write the name of others kids on your blog?
No, it's not a rule but a lot of people like to remain somewhat anonymous and so they don't use names. As you can see, I use my kids' names but I don't want to offend anyone by using their kids' names on my blog.
Thanks for the pat on the back!
Oh, and you're welcome to comment on all of them. :)
Yeah! I love it when kids finally get along. Skylah as a girl does not get along with many boys. But, they soon realize she loves to kick, punch and scream as good as the next one.
Love the bike story.. so sad at the end though. Projects gone wrong are not fun.
