Not to be confused with the Ruby Falls of Chattanooga fame. I'm not sure where this name came from but it sure was confusing to my kids. This was the other highlight of our trip through Helen. We drove out of town and into a National Forest and up a long, windy mountain road (praying that we didn't run out of gas....gotta keep the trip interesting, right?) to Anna Ruby Falls. I had read about this place on the Internet and it looked beautiful. It said there was a .4 mile hike to the waterfalls. Not bad, I thought....that's less than a mile for the round trip. What they forgot to mention was the fact that the hike was straight UP the mountain. Not exactly the "easy" hike I had in mind but we all persevered. And it was worth it when we got to the top.
All along the way we saw signs like these (should we have been worried?!)
