Go Dawgs!

Saturday morning we went Outlet Mall shopping! There was a great mall with lots of our favorite stores--Nike, Old Navy, Timberland, Children's Place, Eddie Bauer, to name a few. We all got something. We met some friends for lunch then headed to Athens for the BIG GAME!

I promised to tell you about the UGA parking fee scams.....almost every lot we saw was charging $30--I KID YOU NOT!--just to park. And we're talking MILES away from the stadium!!! How crazy is that?!? The craziest thing is that all of these lots were full! We just refused to pay that much to park so we finally found a lot that let us park for only $10 (don't worry--our car was still there when we got back) and we felt like we'd just gotten the bargain of the century. Then we had to hike the 3 miles to the stadium! It was fun being in the middle of so many avid fans. There was a sea of red everywhere you looked. Here are Kelly and the kids outside the stadium:
We were there several hours before game time so we gathered with the millions (ok, thousands) of other fans to hear the band play before the football players walked out to the stadium. It was fun but hot and very, very crowded. Kierstyn was the only one (besides Kelly) who really enjoyed this part of the day. Finally we got into the stadium, spent $19 on 3 drinks and a pretzel and found our seats. Only 56 minutes til game time....
Pregame festivities included a fantastic little diddy from the marching band and the UGA mascot--a real bulldog named Uga (pronounced "uh-guh")

Almost game time! Here come the players running through the banner:

Kickoff! Let the game begin....
It was a lot of fun. I really do enjoy football games and this was a fun day. We only stayed for the 1st half--the kids hung in there real good but even Kelly realized it was time to call it a day. Thanks for the tickets, Uncle Sam!!
