Last evening at our Enrichment Night at church we had a mini-lesson on gratitude. It was a good reminder for me to recognize and appreciate everything that I have been blessed with.
Today I'm grateful for...
KIDS THAT BEHAVE. Or at least they behave well enough to fool occasional acquaintances and passers-by into thinking that they are well-behaved. (Those of you who really know my kids may be laughing hysterically at the fact that I said they behave.) But seriously, I DO have good kids and I'm extremely thankful for that.
This morning I worked at the Book Fair at K&K's school. I had to bring Trev with me for the first hour so I stationed him on a little bench with several books to look at while I helped the students pick out books. As we were leaving, one of the 1st grade teachers stopped us and complimented Trev on being so well-behaved. She said she had never seen a little guy be so good (Yes, she really was talking about my Trevin!) and that she hoped she had him in her class someday. I'm thankful that today was a good day for Trevin (because, trust me, they're not all good days!).
Kierstyn unknowingly broke a rule yesterday by going to the bathroom during PE without asking permission first. (She thought that she had heard the teacher say, "If you need to go to the bathroom, go" in reference to the whole class but apparently that's not what she meant.) When she got back the substitute teacher asked her why she went to the bathroom without asking and then put her name in "THE BOOK." (This means that she will have to sit out 10 min. in PE on Friday.) Anyways, so Kierstyn was VERY, VERY distraught over this and came home crying yesterday and cried again as she recounted the whole saga to Kelly over the phone. I'm thankful that she wants to do what's right.
Kyler was chosen to be a "Peer Mentor" by his teacher. This means that he will assist younger students who need additional help each week at school. He is excited because he gets to go on a field trip on Friday for the training. I'm thankful that he is such a good role model and that he is finally being recognized for being so good.

So sweet- I am very emotional these days and got teary eyed. It is nice to sit back and realize all the good in our children and not be stressed about the negative that at most times doesn't even matter in the long run. Thanks for the eye opener.
Yay for great kids and great days! You do have a cute bunch!
So is there hope that one day my little man might actually sit and look at a book for longer than it takes to sling it across the room?
I am so jealous...and not in a healthy way. :)
I am grateful for the mother of these wonderful, well-behaved, well-mannered children who taught them so well and who is grateful for the fruits of her LABORS! Ya-hoo for tender moments and kudos to YOU for putting them in print!!
