Ocoee

After Helen, we enjoyed a most gorgeous scenic drive through the Appalachain Mountains. We were even in North Carolina for about 15 miles. Really, really beautiful. We drove through Ocoee and got out awhile to watch ALL the whitewater rafters and climb on the rocks. We had thought about taking a rafting trip this summer but there's an age requirement so it looks like it'll be a few years before all the kids are old enough to go. We were thinking maybe Grand-daddy might like to "sponsor" a tubing trip for all the grandkids ages 5 and up (and their parents) next summer??? :)

The Ocoee had really changed since Kelly and I had been down it. They "spruced it up" for the Olympics in '96 and there were lots of nice trails to walk on. We'll have to come back to do some hiking here.
These 2 had a good time together

Kyler was into posing for pictures this day
ever the poserHe looks grumpy here but it was just the sun in his eyes....those are some of the rapids right behind him
We stayed in Chattanooga and the kids enjoyed (finally!) swimming at the hotel. The next day we drove up Lookout Mtn. to visit Mama Kate (Kelly's grandmother) then headed home for a day of unpacking, laundry, mowing the grass, etc. We enjoyed our Labor Day adventure! When's the next trip??????

My K is completely devastated and disgusted that you posted that picture of your K taking a potty break! I just laughed at her, but she's got some words for you on behalf of her friend. :)

Um... I am jealous!! I wish I was your kid! And even though my son won't be 5, I think I should still be able to go on the trip Grand-Daddy 'sponsors'.
