My tree makes me happy. I love waking up early in the morning and plugging in the tree to read my scriptures by the lights. I love pulling out all of the handmade ornaments and placing them on the tree. I love reminiscing about who made which one and especially looking at the ones the kids made with their picture on it. I love the old ornaments that were mine when I was a kid that now proudly hang on our tree. I love ALL the lights. The day we put it up I must have said to Kelly at least 8 times, "Have I told you how much I love our tree?" It's not fancy. It's not a designer tree and it doesn't have expensive ornaments hanging on it. I'm not even very good when it comes to decorating it. But it's our tree. A tree filled with memories. And it makes me happy. Very, very happy.
Trevin wanted to put his train around the tree this year. You would not believe the hours (seriously, HOURS!) that he has spent playing with it already.

I am in the same boat with you on Christmas Trees. We even down graded trees this year but I still love it!! Charlie Brown still had a good Christmas, right? :)
Your tree is beautiful! My girls and I have so much fun hanging all the handmade ornaments on their special tree. They love to ask about the story behind each one.
And Trevin is so cute it hurts to look! I can't wait until my little man is old enough to enjoy the tree without destroying it...well, maybe I can wait. That would mean he's grown up too fast...so nevermind. I'll take each stage as it comes and love the heck out of it.

I love your tree! That what my tree looks like, too, and I just absolutely love the sweet, sentimental homespun feel. I'll have to take some fun pictures when we get it up. And, how PRECIOUS is Trevin!
Beautiful! Our tree is not a 'designer' tree either; it's all the ornaments from Mark and my child hood and ones we've collected over the years--that's what makes it special! I love that Trevin put the train around the tree...better not let Grant see!!
Great tree! Growing up, we always had a train around the tree too! Now they put the train up for my kids and they love it!
