Gratitude for Good Teachers

Those of you who know me have heard me sing their praises before: Kyler's Primary teachers, Brother and Sister C, are not just good teachers--they are amazing, inspiring, fun, encouraging GREAT teachers! From the moment they were called to teach the Valiant 9 class they have made learning the gospel fun and rewarding for those they teach. Kyler has thrived on their weekly assignments and reward system (although I honestly think just doing the homework was reward enough for him). The C's assigned weekly reading assignments from the New Testament that corresponded to the next week's lesson. Not only did that help the kids to come prepared the next week to discuss some part of the lesson but it also helped me as a parent to discuss and reinforce what he was learning in class. The kids earned "points" for doing homework and also for answering questions in class which they could cash in for prizes every so often. Kyler started out the year a little shy and wouldn't always answer questions in class even if he knew the answer....but this system really brought him out of his shell. He was so excited the first Sunday that he was awarded "Class Star." The C's have gone above and beyond the call of duty in so many ways. Kyler was also lucky enough to have them both as his Cub Scout leader and hopefully they will remain in that position so that he will still be blessed by their influence at least until his birthday in April (when he'll move up to the next age group). Last night the C's held an end-of-the-year pizza/movie/game night party for their class. Kyler had so much fun!
So thank you from the bottom of my heart, Brother and Sister C, for making this a year that Kyler (and I) will NEVER EVER forget! You have my deepest and most sincere gratitude for making church a fun learning environment for my son.
