Ok, ok. I know. All I seem to blog about these days is food! Hey, it's only Jan. 11th....let me cling to my New Years Resolution as long as I can.
The other night we dropped Kyler off at Scouts and then came home to make dinner. I used the "wanna help me in the kitchen?" and "we're having breakfast for dinner!" ploys with Kierstyn and Trevin and it worked! We made German pancakes. They were so yummy (and no, there weren't any vegetables snuck in). I gave them each their own bowl to mix the ingredients in and they went to town. Simple recipe, very few ingredients. We put them in pie plates, stuck them in the oven, and then watched as they got big and puffy. It was pretty cool. We put syrup, powdered sugar, and/or applesauce on them and ate them up!
Trevin made the "apple" version:I did some more pureeing today: spinach and sweet potato. I've got lots of frozen purees on hand-yippeeee! Tonight we're having fish nuggets (with sweet potato) and a different mac-and-cheese recipe (this one with chickpeas!).

That looks so yummy!! I admire you for taking this task by the reins and really going strong with it! If my family were picky with fruits and veges I would certainly be attempting this as well! I love it!!!
These foods are killing me. All day I try to figure out how many treats and bad things I can make and eat before Adam gets home... by the time I finish thinking it is too late and the "health patrol" is back. Oh well... maybe one day I can get the recipe and try it out.
Yummy! I love German pancakes... we call them "Popeyed Pancakes," or when I was little, "Popeye Pancakes." One of our favortie toppings is a sprinkling of lemon juice topped with a sprinkling of powdered sugar, you'll have to give it a try.
I LOVE German pancakes and that has been one of the things I have craved....we just had some a few days ago (we have them for dinner all the time)....YUM!!
Okay, so I'm the only one who doesn't know...but what is a German pancake?
