We went to Chattanooga this weekend to begin our search for a new home.....or at least to narrow down the area to we want to look in. It was a little productive but mostly just overwhelming. So much to look at, so many areas, etc. We looked in Ootelwah, Hixson, East Brainerd, Ringgold (GA) and Graysville (GA). We walked in to a couple open houses on Sunday but mostly we were just driving around trying to get a feel for the different areas. A LOT of neighborhoods are built on ridges...this translates into a home with a backyard that drops off the side of a mountain! (No thank you.) We were able to eliminate a lot of the houses on our list just from driving by the outside. We did find a couple we'd like to go back to see and then we came home and looked up some For Sale by Owner homes that we'd like to find. Now we just have to find a time to go back.
We also went to church on Sunday. The kids loved it (and I'm sure they'd pretty much love anywhere--they're easy). It was good for me to see how much they liked it and it was a good reminder for me that yes, they will be ok when we move. They are so easily adaptable and I am grateful for that (and for that reminder). Me, on the other hand? Well, I won't get into the whirlwind of emotions I've been feeling lately......Let's just say that I don't want to move but knowing that it's the right thing for our family I am willing to "go where He wants me to go."

So grateful you have a few more months here with us! And am a little jealous of all the new friends you will make that will get to spend good quality time with you.
I think you are going to have quite a few houseguests coming to visit in Chattanooga...
You are moving???????? This is what happens when you teach primary. Why didn't I hear about this?? Okay, vent over... I am glad to hear you had a good visit to the area. And that your kiddos will be adaptable, that is always a bit easier in the happenings. I will miss you!
Sorry, I tried to post as Dave again. Anyway, good for you doing the right thing even when it's hard. I know how it goes to move somewhere you don't want to, and it takes a lot of faith. But everything works out OK. You will be missed!
We don't want you to move, either, but at least Chattanooga is visiting-distance. I can't imagine how overwhelming househunting/selling is. It is a huge fear of mine, I wish you all the luck in the world with that!
Talk about BAD news. I'm going to bless my own heart for not knowing y'all were moving. Was that the whole reason for the kitchen re-do? Talk soon.
FYI ~ there is an offer on MK's house ~ full price. :>) Does that help?
