****WARNING**** This post contains A LOT of pictures and all the long, boring details of our fun Spring Break week. Read at your own risk.*****
SUNDAY
We left for Chattanooga right after church (impressed, aren't you, that we could get the car packed for a weeklong trip and leave directly after church without having to go back home....well then, I won't mention the fact that our church doesn't start til 1:00 and so we had all morning to get ready....and believe me, we needed ALL morning to get ready!)....and checked into our hotel downtown. It was so nice and convenient and it had an indoor swimming pool which was really the only thing the kids cared about anyways.
MONDAY
Beeeeeee-autiful day! We played outside all day! Kelly went to work and I took the kids to the playground down by the river. First we took a few timed group shots in front of the Aquarium. I look totally goofy in this first one but I love Trevin's expression:
and you can see how quickly (like 10 seconds later) his expression can change:
The kids wanted to pose with this Cherokee Indian statue The playground....
How fun is this?! Someone had conveniently left some cardboard boxes at the top of this hill for the kids to go "hill sledding/surfing" with. Trevin was a pro (we think it's because he was the lightest of the bunch.) And of course Kierstyn was the one who decided to try "surfing"--surprise, surprise! It was so fun!!!Kelly picked us up at the park and we drove across the river to Coolidge Park. We got lunch at a deli and ate outside. There was a neat fountain but the water wasn't on (too cold). Kierstyn and Trevin enjoyed climbing on the statues.
And they loved the carousel, too.
Kelly headed back to work and the kids and I walked across this really long pedestrian bridge over the river!
TUESDAY
We dragged the kids to look at 6 houses with our realtor. They enjoyed finding all the "hiding spots" (for hide-n-go-seek games) in every house. We ate lunch at Fazoli's and then I took the kids back to the hotel to swim. That night we went to see the Grand Canyon movie at the IMAX and then of course back to the hotel to watch American Idol (and swim again!)
WEDNESDAY
Last day in Chattanooga.....and we woke up to a downpour--yuck! Kelly had gone to work early and we all slept in and then packed up. We loaded up the car and had lunch with Kelly at Greenlife Grocery.....then Kelly went back to work and the kids and I went to the Aquarium!
Kierstyn was the only one brave enough to "pet" a stingray:and afterwards we made a pit stop at Ben and Jerry's--yum!Later that afternoon we headed to Murfreesboro for a few more days of Spring Break fun!
night we went to a hockey game with Zack and McKenzie and we brought Landon and Kyler with us!
FRIDAY
The annual Meredith cousins Easter Egg Hunt. This year the eggs had gold coins inside them. When the hunt was over, the kids counted their coins and got to "shop" at Mama Mary's store. They seemed to really like it.
Ready, Set, Hunt!
Counting coins"The store"After the hunt we had a Surprise 1st Birthday party for my twin niece and nephew! Happy Birthday, Cy and Piper!!!
Friday afternoon we celebrated two more of my nephews' birthdays with a party at their house......and Saturday we came home!
