Another Egg!....and an Update on the Baby Robins

Kierstyn scared the baby doves out of their nest and into flight last Thursday (don't ask: it involved a bat and a tennis ball). She felt so bad (it was definitely unintentional) but I assured her that they would be ok. They did, after all, fly out of the nest. We saw them a couple days later on the fence in the backyard practicing flying with their dad. Very cute and fun to watch.

Well guess what?! There is ANOTHER egg in our basket now! And a much smaller bird sitting on it. It couldn't be one of the "babies" could it? I was going to take down the poor, pitiful hanging basket but I guess it is a popular home! We won't be around to see these babies hatched though. I hope the people moving in like birds.
And remember the other nest that we found on the side of the house? Well those babies are still so little. I took this one yesterday. It's kind of dark but they were so cute with their little beaks open and pointed up. I think they were hungry. This is what they've looked like almost every time I've gone to look at them.

I took this one today. They were sleeping all snug together until I came over to disturb them.

Do you think we'll be able to attract such fun critters at our new house???
