I'm so happy to have 3 days off this week! I'm hoping to get caught up on some blog posts that I keep meaning to write. First, I'm happy to report that after the first very hectic week of school (when I was having serious doubts about being able to handle going back to work) I had a much better week last week. I am finally feeling like I know what I'm supposed to be doing at my job and just overall getting a better handle on life. Whew! I was really worried there for a bit (and I'm sure my patient hubby would agree....he was undoubtedly ready to send me away for some psychological evaluations--seriously) but things are much, much better now. I love those little kids and now that I am finally learning all their names (4 Kindergarten classes) I am even more excited about working with them.
Last week was Trevin's first full week of school. The first couple of days he was so tired by the end of the day but as the week went on I think it got easier for him. He has made a cute little friend named Gracie. He was upset on Friday because he didn't have any homework...so his very nice teacher pulled out some extra worksheets and made him his own folder. Funny. I LOVE his teacher, by the way.
Kyler loves middle school and has really made some good friends. He is excited about starting band this week and there is some talk about cross country but we'll see. I went on a "Learning Expedition" (aka Field Trip) with the 5th graders on Thurs. Surprisingly enough Kyler didn't even seem to be embarrassed that I was there. This school requires parental volunteer hours so all the kids are pretty used to having their parents around quite a bit. I was reminded as I watched a couple of the other 5th grade boys how blessed I truly am to have such great kids! (LOVE those reminders!)
Interestingly, I would say that Kierstyn is having the hardest time which really surprises me. I haven't quite put my finger on what is going on with her. She doesn't even realize that she's having a hard time but her behavior at home has been atrocious. Actually she was a lot better today but she has really been trying our patience. She had choir on Wed. for the first time and really liked it. I also went on a Learning Expedition with the 2nd graders this week. We went to see the Asian exhibit at the Chattanooga Zoo. It was fun and we can't wait to go back. There are so many things to do here--we love it!
I have several things that I hope to accomplish this week with a little more time and all 3 kids in school. I am trying to get prepared for Kierstyn's baptism in a couple weeks and hopefully I can get out of my funk and start running again.

Great catch up news! Transition can be difficult. LOVE the extra TLC Trevin is receiving. Good for Kyler going out there and doing his thing!! Interesting about Miss Social ~ maybe she is giving all she's got at school and when she is home she's just tired and taking things out on those she loves the most. ???? Pleased you will have some home time to get caught up etc. LOVE how you LOVE Chattanooga :>) OXOXOXOXO to all!!
