Weekend Review

I had the *Great* idea to have the kids help me paint the front porch on Saturday. Actually I offered $5 to anyone who wanted to help. Of course, Kyler was the only one to jump at the chance to help but Kierstyn eventually came around once she deemed the job worthy of 5 bucks. And she couldn't resist the painting part either. Trevin even came out to help but fortunately he wasn't around when I offered the $5 deal so it's all good. I'm not sure how much "help" he actually was either. He didn't last as long as the other 2....actually I didn't last as long with him before yelling at him and sending him back inside. That's why are there are no pictures of him painting. The result is a fresher coat of paint on our porch rails and a few paint splotches on the ground. Oh, and happy kids that got to help AND paint. :)

Sunday morning I woke up thinking about re-arranging furniture upstairs. And since I always get what I want (ha!), Kelly took down the bunk bed in the boys' room. They now have 2 twin beds....or they will as soon as we buy another twin mattress. For now, Trev is sleeping on the flimsy little mattress that was on the top bunk. The flimsy little mattress that is now broken in half from Kierstyn jumping on it. Oh, well. I am toying with how to decorate/paint the boys' room. I think I want white washable wainscotting on the bottom and navy blue on the top. Ideas are welcome.

We then tackled the "playroom" which now has a new tv! 2 new tvs in the same month....have we lost our minds?! Actually we sold our HUGE 400 pound (Not Joking!) tv on craigslist so we figured we could get a new one with all that cold hard cash. :) It's just a little tv and will only be used for the kids to watch movies on and also for me and Kelly to watch tv while we're running on the treadmill, right Kelly? We moved an old ottoman from the boys' room into the playroom for a makeshift "couch" that will have to do until we get a real one. Hmmmmm, what else can we sell on craigslist?

The rest of the weekend was spent watching General Conference, riding bikes, and just hanging out together. Fun times!
