change.
I tend to think of myself as a fairly "adaptable" person though I don't necessarily always welcome change with open arms. However, I do know that it is through changes in my life that I have grown into the person I am (and I continue to grow because of it). The lesson I taught at church today was on Preparing for Change and it really made me think about all of the changes that I have had over this past year.....moving to a new city, sending my youngest off to school, going back to work, etc. I wouldn't exactly say that I have embraced all those changes the way I should have but I know that I am growing because of them.
I loved this quote from Marvin J. Ashton:
"There is a tendency to think of change as the enemy. Many of us are suspect of change and will often fight and resist it before we have even discovered what the actual effects will be. When change is thought through carefully, it can produce the most rewarding and profound experiences in life."
And who wouldn't want rewarding and profound experiences?

I agree . . . change can be difficult, but it often does have its rewards.
