Ideas Needed: Favorite Family Games

We are in desperate need of some new games but every time I try to buy one I can't seem to find one that I think we would all like. We like to play card games: Skip-Bo, Phase 10, Uno. We also like Whoonu and Apples to Apples. And of course there's the standard Sorry and Trouble. But that's about it. So I've decided to ask the experts......that's you! Do any of you have any favorite family games that you think my family would like? Keep in mind we have a 10 yo, 8 yo, and 5 yo. Most of the games we play are for ages 10 or 12 and up (my kids are pretty darn smart, you know.) Trevin usually just plays on a "team" with mom or dad and that seems to work fine. Thanks in advance for all your wonderful suggestions! :)

By far our favotite game at those ages was Blockus. It is only a 4 person game. So Tyler teams up too. It's a lot of fun. Seriously check it out. BTW-there are several other takes on the game but the original one is the best. Have fun hunting.

They have Disney Scene It and Disney Pictionary. I have never played them but they look like a lot of fun and able for all ages to do.

I agree with Karen. We LOVE Blokus too...and found a card game that we enjoy because it is pretty easy for kids. It's called Flinch. You may have to search for it online though.

Christian has asked for Blokus for Christmas. He plays it next door and he loves it. So that seems to be a popular one.

One of the games I am introducing Logan to is Sequence. You have to think about it. It is with face cards, so some people do not like it. I love it, it makes you really think about where you place your card (You have to get 4 or 5 in a row). Logan is getting better at it. Another game that Logan loves is Chinese Checkers. And the last game, a game he is getting for Christmas is Mancala. It is another stategic game. I love the games that you have to plan out to win. I think that it teaches the kids how to think ahead and decide what decision now that they have to make to have a good outcome in the future. All of these games make Logan think. Sarah will play these games soon, I hope.
