We (Mom, Kierstyn, and I) braved the chilly, chilly weather to see my two boys in the parade Saturday night. Kelly was at home watching the FL/AL game! Trevin was on the Kindergarten float representing the country of Kenya (the kindergartners are studying cultures this quarter--Kenya, Tahiti, China, & Mexico). He was pretty grumpy (tired) before the parade but he was happy once we got there. He sat next to M on the float.
Kyler and I arrived early to help decorate the band float. I think it turned out pretty neat. And the band sounded really good playing Good King Wenceslas and Jingle Bells. :)
We watched the parade near the end and as Trevin came past us he was on the other side of the float and so we didn't really get to see him (just the back of his head). He was pretty disappointed when I picked him up that he didn't see me. On the way back to the car we had the following conversation...
T: I thought we were going to be walking.
Me: You thought you were going to walk in the parade?
T: Yeah.
Me: No, silly. Remember, I told you that you were going to be on a float.
T: (in the cutest little 5 year old voice you've ever heard) BUT I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT A FLOAT WAS!

Love it! We adults sure do assume a lot, huh?! Way cute. Great floats. Love K's dimple visible from afar :>)
Fun pictures!! And I love Trevin's sweet and innocent comment.
It looks cold. I wonder what thoughts were going through his mind about being on a float and how he associated it with walking. :) Cute.
