random journaling edition

We had an extra long weekend (1/2 day for Parent-Teacher Conference on Fri., Presidents Day on Mon. and a snow day on Tues.). Trev wrestled at Baylor on Saturday and we had to work the tournament. 4 hours at the concession stand actually flew by because we were crazy busy the whole time. Kelly worked on bracketing and was a table worker, too. Kierstyn was able to fulfill her dream of being a towel tapper and Kyler helped at a table by keeping up with the matches on a whiteboard. Mom came for the day to see Trev wrestle. He did great--won his first 2 matches, lost the next 2--but he wrestled his buddy, K, really, really hard. It was a great match.

Monday we played with some friends (and family) at the Aquarium then went to Cici's for lunch/dinner. While we were playing all day, Zack came to install our new granite countertops in all the bathrooms. Now we need to hook up the sinks, paint, tile, and get new mirrors. :) There's always a project going on around here.....

Tuesday we just hung out at home. We took Monday night off from gymnastics and Tuesday night off from wrestling. We hardly knew what to do with ourselves all together at home 2 nights in a row! We ended up hooking up a couple of sinks and clearing a space on the floor upstairs for wrestling mats. And then, of course, a wrestling match (or two) ensued.

Kierstyn went to school yesterday wearing Kyler's (very large on her) Gators sweatshirt. The 3rd grade boys (and her) were banned from playing football at recess for a couple of weeks due to unnecessary roughness so yesterday they headed to the basketball courts. Today, in anticipation of the continued basketball game at recess, Kierstyn went to school wearing Kyler's (very large on her) basketball jersey. She tried to sneak his basketball shoes, too, but he caught her. She is so funny.

I am hosting a luncheon for some ladies from church next week so that has given me some encouragement to finish up some projects around here. I'm off to start painting the boys' bathroom today.

Tomorrow is the long-anticipated Spelling Bee for Kierstyn.

It is fun to catch up. Sounds like a lot of productive things going on in the Meredith home. Good luck on all your projects.
