What's on your Valentines Day menu?

So I'm feeling kind of lame after seeing all these amazing things people do for Valentines Day. Kelly and I don't even exchange gifts (we don't ever exchange gifts, actually...it's just easier that way).

The kids did homemade Valentines but that was the extent of our "celebration"....and even then, I had to beg them to make their own!

I thought maybe I'd whip up some sugar cookies and have the kids decorate them today after their 1/2 day of school but no one seemed too excited so I don't even know if I'll go to all the trouble.

But I was wanting to at least have some special sort of meal on Sunday to celebrate love, hearts, etc. Problem is, I can't figure out what to make. What are you guys making for Valentines Day dinner????

Joe and I usually don;t get each other anything, but I do usually try to make a nice dinner and decorate the table with little candies, and hearts. The kids have always loved it. Even the older ones look forward to getting a heart box of candy on their plate.
We are having steak this year. : )

I have heard of having a meal of all red foods. Like chili, spagethhi, kool-aid, etc. Then eat my candle light. It's a little different but sounded like fun. That is what I would be doing if it wasn't for that I'll be traveling. Happy Valentines Day and good luck.

Girl, you need to leave the kids and go on a date. Tell Kelly to get you some jewelry!

I'm cooking Scampi with Linguine, garlic bread, (we can all have garlic breath together),caeser salad, sauteed spinach with Gloria ferrer pink champagne and the girls will have pomegranite apple cider. Molten cakes for dessert. Yummy!! My 9 year old is making lunch and my 8 yr old is making breakfast.

Alex is making dinner, I'm making dessert. It's his one time a year kitchen endeavor... and trust me, it's for the best. I'm making a cherry cobbler. It's red and I'm cold.

I'm glad you liked my scrap art! I simply attached the scrap book paper to the canvas with modge podge (cover the entire surface or it will bubble) and then coated the top with another layer of modge podge. Super easy!! Come over, we'll do it together! =0)

Another idea to use your canvas might be to cover it with a fun fabric. I've seen those used in magazines as a substitute for a headboard. Cool, eh?

Chocolate covered strawberries (for me) and a heart shaped cheesecake (for Adam). That is the extent of my planning. I have been wanting a Roast not sure how "romantic" that is though. In years past we have had artichokes with a side of butter . I have a salad recipe that I call our Valentines salad that has spinach, strawberries, sliced almonds, mushrooms and a homemade salad dressing. Now you have to share what you end up doing!

Buying papa murphy's heart shaped pizzas on Sat. and laying on the couch while they bake in the oven. Andrew will make store bought sugar cookies and I will eat them up!
Ha I hate to cook!

We are making heart shaped pizzas this year. I usually try to make something red, but this year I ran out of ideas. The kids have decided that they like making pizzas, so I am going to let them help. We are having red velvet cupcakes for dessert.
