This morning as we were reading scriptures Kierstyn and I got into a discussion about BC vs. AD. She thought that BC meant "Before Christ" and AD meant "After Death" (meaning after Jesus was crucified). I'll admit that for a long time I thought the same thing; it is a rather confusing concept. I explained to her that AD years actually started when Jesus was born, not when He died. We even looked it up in the dictionary--AD means "in the year of our Lord" so all years were numbered starting from the year Jesus was born.
I think she finally got it but after thinking about it a little while longer she said, "I think they should call it H-O-E."
I was confused. "Huh?" I asked.
"You know," she said, "They should call it H-O-E....Here On Earth....for the years that Jesus was alive."
Sounds like a good idea to me. :)

LOL!!! Clever girl! The title of your post really caught my eye.
We had a similar discussion awhile back. My kids thought it should be CB....Christ's Birth....which would go nicely, they thought, with BC.
I love kids and the things they think of.
Don't have your email address so here is a little note from me....I've been looking into Doctoral Schools....and one was in Chattanooga. I dreamt about it all night and YOU were in my dream. Funny, our left over thoughts from the day. Hope all is well....I'd like to hear, sometime, your story about quitting work and what you did, etc.

Brilliant, I say! And where was Kierstyn when such decisions were made??? That gal's brain NEVER stops, does it?!?!? OXOXOX
Sounds good to me too.
Brilliant girl!
Actually, now they're calling it CE and BCE, from what I understand "Common Era" and "Before Common Era"... Goodness forbid we use Christ as a reference for anything. ;)
I like Kierstyn's idea better.
Your little one ha the right idea. Keep it nice and simple!
