Fun with old friends

We met the Lowe family when we moved to Florida 10 years ago. Amy and I served together in the Primary presidency and our kids grew up going to each other's houses for Primary meetings and fun get-togethers. When we went to Orlando for Fall Break we stopped in to see the Lowes. We hadn't seen them in over 5 years and it was a quick visit...but lucky for us, they were headed up to New York for Christmas and Chattanooga just happens to be on the way! Look how grown up everyone is now. We had a fun-filled night of games. Kelly taught us the "flour game" and it was a good icebreaker game to get everyone loosened up a little. :) The object is to cut away at the flour without making the quarter fall down. If/when the quarter falls, you have to pick it up...with your mouth!

It starts out looking like this...then you shave away at the flour a little at a time...

until...down comes the quarter!

They were all such good sports!

After the flour game we played the quarter game which is another fun game taught to us by some other dear family friends, the Thompsons.

And then....we played the new game that the Lowes brought us--Farkle. Say the name 3 times. I bet you can't say it without laughing. It is definitely going to be one of our favorites!
It was after midnight before we all went to bed and luckily the Lowes didn't have to hit the road too early so we were able to enjoy breakfast together before they had to leave. I'm so blessed to have such wonderful friends!
