Just about the most perfect weekend ever...

How could it not be perfect when it started out with the announcement of a trip to Hawaii and ended with a Snow Day!?

Friday night Kyler and Kierstyn attended "Friday Night Lightning" at school (a school "social") while Trevin was busy wrestling in another tournament. He placed 2nd! :) Late that night after Trevin was sent to bed due to a sobbing episode ("but I waaaaaaanted the big troooooophy!"), Kelly gave me the news that WE ARE GOING TO HAWAII in February! It's a reward trip from work. What can I say? Hawaii? Why yes, thank you very much. :)

Saturday was an extremely rare nothing-on-the-calendar Saturday which was soooooooo nice. Seriously, we only have 2 or 3 of those a year. Kelly and I stopped at an estate sale up on the mountain (more to look at the house--which we may be interested in buying--than in the actual stuff) and then headed to the Y for a pre-Hawaii workout, haha! The rest of the day was spent at home making gingerbread houses and sugar cookies, watching movies, and hanging out. That's how I spell p-e-r-f-e-c-t! :)

My friend had made these gingerbread houses for the YW last Wednesday night and she had a few left over. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time and scored 3 of them for the kids to decorate. The kids had a blast.
After gingerbread houses Trevin and Kierstyn helped me make sugar cookies for our cookie decorating party on Friday. Trevin really took to it! He was seriously covered with flour from head to toe. My "flour" child:Sunday while we were at church it started to snow. And it just kept on snowing! You would think that with temperatures in the 20s it would be too cold for the kids to go outside and play but we Southerners don't get to see that white stuff very often so at 9:00 last night the kids were having a snowball fight and making snow angels! I, on the other hand, was snuggled on the couch under a blanket and so no pictures...maybe tomorrow. We are all excited about NO SCHOOL on Monday!

Hawaii!!! I am so excited for you (and a bit jealous)!!!

Heath is way excited about the snow. If I would have let him, he would have been out there last night. He is out there this morning!

I love your "flour" child, that is hilarious!

Ok, first of all, I LOVE your new family picture! Beautiful! Kierstyn looks so grown up! Kyler has for a few years now... :) Trevin looks absolutely adorable covered from head to toe in flour. I bet he was a huge help. No question you had a perfect weekend. I love the gingerbread houses, we are getting ready to do ours here in the next week.

And about Hawaii...sounds like a dream to me, especially if someone else is paying! Good for you guys! BTW, HK is just a bit further than Hawaii. Might as well come on if you're going that far! :)
