Parenting IS worth the risk

Recently I've been faced with a major parenting trial, one that has quite certainly been the most difficult to date. Today as I was listening to a Glenn Latham talk on CD something just spoke loud and clear to me. He said, "Parenting, by its very nature, is risky business. The only way to avoid those risks is to avoid being a parent. But being a parent and doing what must be done to parent well, risky as it is, is worth it.....There is no such thing as risk-free parenting. There will be some pain, some discomfort, some uneasiness and anxious moments. But in the long run the odds are in your favor. And if you win, everyone wins.
It's worth the risk."

How grateful I am for a Heavenly Father who gives us what we need to hear when we need to hear it.

What an inspired comment. The hardest things in life are always the most rewarding things, let's all just pray we keep that in mind as we go forward in our parenting duties. :)
