We tried something new this weekend. We went on vacation without really going on vacation. Since I start work next Friday and the kids will be starting school soon Kelly decided that we needed to go on vacation. And since we just moved to Chattanooga we had plenty of places to check out without having to go too far. Friday night we took the kids to a rock climbing gym we'd been hearing about. It was really cool and the kids had a blast! We lucked out since it was 2 for 1 Kids night. :) It's a pretty cozy place but there were only 5 other people there so we had plenty of space. We've long thought that Kierstyn was going to be our rock climber but the boys both proved that they've got what it takes, too. Trevin was hysterical....that look of determination on his face was priceless. They climbed nonstop for almost 2 hours. You can imagine how sore they must have been today. Kelly was bashing me for not bringing my camera. So sorry I don't have pictures but the memories will certainly linger in my head for a long time. :) After rock climbing we had the most fantastically amazing (and HUGE!) banana splits at Mr. T's Pizza.

Vacation
Today we set out for a day of outdoor adventures. We weren't going to let the rain stop us! We drove about an hour east of Chattanooga to Reliance, TN, and rafted down the Hiwassee River with Hiwassee Outfitters. Kelly and I have rafted the Ocoee River years ago and I floated (tubed) down the Hiwassee for a church Youth activity once so we have been anxious to take the kids out. We rented a 5-man raft and it took us about 2 1/2 hours to go down the river. It was just as fun as we'd hoped it would be! Everyone had a great time and the rain held off so we didn't get soaked.
You know it's a good day when your kids look like this on the ride home:
