Exhibit Night--October

At the end of each 9 weeks, our school hosts an Exhibit Night to showcase all that the students have learned in their module (unit of study). Being that we are a museum magnet school, the displays are very professional (aka museum-like). It's a lot of work (for the teachers) but so worth it! Kelly had to miss it since he is out of town but lucky for us, Mama Mary came for the evening! (Still kicking myself that I didn't get a pic of you with my crew, MM!)

Trevin has been learning about Communities (specifically Chattanooga), Community Helpers, and Transportation. Each Kindergarten student made a model of a building in Chattanooga and they laid it out just like the city on display. They also dressed up as a community helper that would work in their building. Trevin made the McClellan Gym at UTC and dressed as a basketball coach.

Kierstyn has been learning all about Japan. She was chosen as a docent (that's like the "teacher" at a museum) for 2nd grade so she wore her karate outfit and explained the exhibit to passers-by. Here she is showing her PE teacher (good sport that he was) her travel journal. One of the 2nd grade learning expeditions was to a Japanese restaurant where they got to sample sushi.Kierstyn made this in Art"Smart cars" made in Japan Kierstyn then participated in the 1st choir performance of the year.

After the choir concert we headed over to the Upper School to check out Kyler's exhibit. He has been learning about the Civil War and U.S. Constitution. They made quilt squares similar to how slaves did back in Civil War times.

And then Kyler had his first band concert! I didn't get a great picture....we couldn't even see him during the performance. So sorry you had to miss it, Kelly!
